Microsoft Security Warning Windows Server 2008 R2 End of Life!

Microsoft Security Warning Windows Server 2008 R2 End of Life!

Microsoft is ending support of Window’s Server 2008 on January 14, 2020.

This is a very important issue every business owner needs to pay attention to.

This means Microsoft will no longer issue security updates, patches and fixes for all Server 2008 machines. Without the security updates and patches, IT systems will be much more vulnerable to hacker and cybersecurity attacks.

Also, Microsoft is also stopping support of Windows 7 on the same day.
Together, this is such a serious threat, that companies housing financial and health information are being required by law to upgrade any and all computer systems running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 because firewalls and anti-virus software will not be enough to protect them.

Don’t Wait! Time To Schedule IT Infrastructure Changes Is Limited!
While January 2020 seems to be a ways off, updating an IT infrastructure is a large task and takes considerable time and planning. It is important to know given the huge number of 2008 R2 servers and computers that are effected, the inventory of replacements will become more limited as the year progresses.
