Tech Guardian’s President, Jarom Renfeldt, presented to a sold-out audience at the Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire (MCIE) about the ever-changing world of cybersecurity protection and compliance.

Jarom provided Tech Guardian’s Recommendations – Center for Internet Security, 20 Controls. Minimum Requirements for Cybersecurity.

The CIS 20 Controls are what the State of California uses as the standard for businesses to provide as “reasonable security” to protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII).  Failure to comply could result in hefty fines should a business get compromised and PII is stolen.

“I looked all over for some simple recommendations to apply the 20 controls to a business, and couldn’t find anything more than sales pitches for each control. So I decided to write down my professional recommendations to apply each control in your business,” said Jarom Renfeldt, President of Tech Guardian.  Jarom continues, “I want to give back to the community and help businesses fight cybercrime.  This recommendation gives business owners a tangible place to start to secure their information.”
